Colonel Sanders

KFC

KFC or Kentucky Food Center
was pioneered by an American, Colonel Harland Sanders. Because his father died, his mother had to work outsides. Sanders had to look after his young siblings and cooked for them, also. He loved cooking very much. When he was a youth, he applied for a soldier, and after that he got married. Until the age of 40, he would rather have his own business. With his little savings, he could have a small gas station in Corbin, Kentucky. Then he began making fried chickens for hungry travelers, and that pleased them so much. One day Governor Ruby Laffoon visited there because of Sander’s fame that grew more and more. The governor made him a Kentucky Colonel since what he did made reputation to the state.

Later, he completed his own perfect recipe and basic cooking techniques. In his old age, he sold his franchising business that made much interest to many people. After visiting KFC Restaurants around the world, he died of leukemia in 1980 at the age of 90.

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz was born by two Germans, Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz. Both of them were fascinated by machines since they were young. Because of their doubts in various types of machines, they started to invent new vehicles.

In 1886, Carl built a motorized tricycle and then four-wheel, Victory. His first car production was Benz Velo, which he used for his car racing. He also built a truck in a year later.

In the same year as Carl, Daimler built a carriage without horses. Later, he made a business deal with William Steinway to produce his vehicles. With his car, he took part in car racing, too, and he met Carl as an opponent. Both of them did well in the competition. Daimler’s racing car was impressed by Emil Jellinek, a rich banker and sport man of Vienna. He usually won the race with the use of Daimler’s car. He named his car after his daughter, Mercedes. He also supported Daimler in production and development of the cars to be most powerful.

Later, Carl Benz and Daimler became partners producing cars under the name of Mercedes-Benz, which we have known up to the present time.
